SCROLL DOWN

Hillendale Kids

Kids fly on the wings of church and home.

When church and home work together, every child can soar into their God-given purpose!

Family Discipleship

We believe that God calls the family to play a vital role in discipling the next generation, and that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children.  Our hope is to partner with parents in their pursuit of this mission, coming alongside them in the discipleship process which is wonderfully unique to each home.  We do this through intentionally fun and engaging lessons for kids and through the various resources we provide parents.  These resources help parents to build a strong, gospel-centered foundation for their kids.  While every home is unique, we believe that vibrant family discipleship can take shape through family worship and a framework of time, moments and milestones.  When church and home work together, we believe every child can soar into their God-given purpose!

Family Worship

We encourage families to worship together during our weekend services.  This is especially true for middle school and high school students, as we hope to integrate them into the life of the church where they can live out God's mission with their parents and other adults.  As a way to introduce this idea, we do Family Worship Weekends four times a year, encouraging families to worship together in a special service for all ages.

Time, Moments, and Milestones

As a way to come alongside parents and help them live out their call to lead their children spiritually, we’ve created a framework for family discipleship: time, moments and milestones.  This language provides a clear philosophy and strategy for discipleship in the home, encouraging and empowering parents to raise up a new generation of believers who know Christ personally, and live for Christ thoughtfully and passionately.

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."  Deuteronomy 6:6-7

TIME

Parents build intentional time into the rhythm of family life for the purpose of thinking about, talking about and living out the gospel.

MOMENTS

Parents capture and leverage opportunities in the course of everyday life for the purpose of gospel-centered conversations.

MILESTONES

Parents mark and make occasions to celebrate and commemorate significant spiritual milestones of God’s work in the life of the family and child.

Children's Church

The mission of Children's Church is to provide an intentionally fun worship experience.  From amusement parks to science experiments, we work hard to relate the teachings of Jesus to fun things your kids already know and enjoy.  We believe this plays a role in why our lessons "stick."  The format of children's church engages the hearts of students K - 6th grade with music, creative activities, instruction, and discussion, which prepares them to fully integrate into the main worship service once they reach middle school.  Parents receive resources to discuss and reinforce the lessons each week.

The mission of our Nursery is to provide a safe, fun, and prayerful environment for children from birth to Pre-K.  At this stage we are intentional about teaching three basic scriptural truths - God made me; God loves meJesus wants to be my friend forever - that will help establish a strong spiritual foundation in the hearts of your children.  We provide parents with resources that include ideas for games, prayers, discussions, and fun ways to learn the memory verse so that you can reinforce and build upon the lessons each week.

Bringing Children to Hillendale

What to Expect

At Hillendale, we take the responsibility of caring for your children very seriously.  Our goal is to make your children's experience the best it can be within a fun and safe environment designed especially for them.

When you Arrive

The first step when you arrive is to check them in.  A one-time registration at Guest Check-In takes about 5 minutes, so you will want to allow a little extra time for this.  This is located on the lower level nearest to the children's classrooms.  Check-in assistants will help you register your child and show you the check-in procedure for future visits.  They will also help you find the appropriate ministry location for your child.

Mobile Notification

Please have your mobile phone with you, as the Hillendale Kids ministry uses mobile notification to contact you during the service if your little one needs your attention.  Also, be ready to submit your mobile number at check-in.

Wristbands at Check-in

Your child (ages 12 and under) will receive a wristband that includes their unique security number.  You will also receive a parent tag with this same number.  For safety reasons, no one is allowed to pick up your child without the parent tag you receive.  If you should lose it, stop by the check-in desk for assistance.

It’s our hope that you and your child have a wonderful experience at Hillendale!
